My daughter was able to pull over and then the car began to smoke.  She and a passenger immediately exited the vehicle.  The vehicle was towed to the nearest shop and was diagnosed with engine failure.  My daughter indicated that no check engine light illuminated nor did the temperature gauge note that the vehicle was overheating, but it just began to lose pressure even when she tried to accelerate.  I was researching cost to have the engine replaced and came across other Forte owner's testimony that they have had engine problems as well, but the Forte was not listed under the Kia recall for engine issues.
