The instrument cluster said to “Press button to start engine”. I had no power. There was no throttle response. Luckily I was on a slight decline and was able to safely change lanes by coasting into the right lane then the shoulder. I was able to put the vehicle into park. The vehicle did restart. I took the vehicle to a Chevrolet dealer and was immediately told that there was an internal engine failure. I could have been rear ended or worse. This is a very serious issue. Upon doing some research, I found that the same thing has happened to many other people. This is very dangerous. Apparently this is becoming a major issue for the GM 6.2l eco tec engine. I hope that the next person this happens to doesn’t freak out and have an accident. If this happens to the wrong person, someone is going to lose their life.
