I was driving in the rain in rush hour traffic. The rain stopped. I turned off my wipers. I was on an onramp to the interstate at dusk. The rain started again. I tried to turn on the wipers but they would not turn on. After several attempts and moving the control arm to various positions, the wipers came back on and worked. The rain lightened again. I turned them off. When I attempted to turn the wipers back on when the rain started again they did not turn on, no matter which position the control arm was moved to. Luckily the rain stopped. I tried the wipers again once I was off the interstate and they worked. I passed by the dealership before going home but the service doors were down. I did not stop. I have not yet taken it to the dealership but intend to this weekend. This was a terrifying situation. I can't imagine if I had been in heavy traffic or needed to veer and this malfunctioned. It could have cost me my life.
