The wheel allows only about 5 degrees of movement before violently snapping back to center.  When I attempted to replicate the issue at startup, the steering initially operated normally, and I was able to turn the wheel approximately 90 degrees. However, it suddenly and forcefully snapped back to center, striking my hand. This occurred while the car was stationary.  The malfunction in the power steering motor or its control system makes the car undrivable, as the steering wheel actively resists turning. The first incident occurred while driving in a parking lot, but thankfully at low speed. The car had to be towed.
