This happens randomly and without any obstruction or reason for the emergency brake to come on.  It has happened many times.  This morning it slammed the emergency brake on 4 times in a row I didn't think I was going to be able to back up as it kept kicking the emergency brake on.  Based on what I have seen on the internet many 2024 GMC Acadia owners are having similar problems.
