They are currently trying to send me to a 3rd party repair business to do the repair, but supposedly they have fixed the part on more recent versions of the car.  By comparison, I had a Toyota Highlander for 11 years and never once had to replace the windshield glass.  Yes, it took a beating, but never once cracked like this glass does.  It's not up to the task, and clearly dangerous.
