The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V075000 (POWER TRAIN). The contact stated that while driving 47 MPH, there was an abnormal sound coming from the engine. The contact stated that the transmission unexpectedly downshifted to first gear, and the vehicle failed to accelerate as intended. The contact was nearly rear-ended by the vehicle behind. The contact stated that the check engine warning light illuminated with the message \u201cService Vehicle Soon\u201d displayed. The contact was able to continue driving; however, the transmission shifted roughly and unexpectedly downshifted to first gear. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer where the vehicle was diagnosed and determined that the transmission leadframe was faulty and needed to be replaced. The contact was informed that DTC: P0720 and P0722 were retrieved. The dealer reprogrammed the powertrain control module and informed the contact that the Output Shaft Speed Sensor (OSS) needed to be replaced and was not covered under the recall. The contact referenced Customer Satisfaction Program: 24S37, as a possible cause for the failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure.
