I proceeded to pull over and let the transmission rest for 45 mins then proceeded with my trip after not seeing any exterior damage or leaks. And it did not shift higher than 9th gear while cruise control was engaged even at lower speeds. The transmission then began to experience harder shifting, and gained a shutter like a clutch pack not engaging properly form 1-3rd gear, and sporadic shifting under light normal driving conditions at random intervals and remains to now have a normal operating temp of 204 degrees under normal driving conditions. Took it to be diagnosed at a ford dealer and it was the CDF drum that lead to a a cascade of issues leading to the transmission needing replacement.
