One or more camera views will appear blank with a crossed-out camera icon. This affects the federally mandated rear backup camera as well as other viewing angles. The issue occurs intermittently but has become more frequent. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request.  This defect puts my safety and others at risk by eliminating rear visibility when reversing, increasing the likelihood of hitting pedestrians (especially children), missing low obstacles, or colliding with vehicles in blind spots. Backup cameras are critical for preventing these incidents, particularly in driveways, parking lots, and tight urban spaces.  The problem has been confirmed by Porsche Silver Spring in Maryland during a recall visit. They stated the repair is not covered and quoted approximately $20,000 to replace the system. The cameras are original equipment and have not been tampered with.  The vehicle has not been inspected by police or insurance representatives, but the defect has been documented in photographs. There were no warning lamps prior to the first failure\u2014only the blank camera screen and crossed-out icon when the failure occurs. Other Porsche Taycan owners have reported similar issues, suggesting this may be a broader design or component defect.  I request NHTSA\u2019s investigation to determine if this is a widespread safety defect requiring a recall or manufacturer-supported repair program.","products":[{"type":"Vehicle","productYear":"2022","productMake":"PORSCHE","productModel":"TAYCAN","manufacturer":"Porsche Cars North America, Inc."}]}]}
