This happened twice, once on a busy road and we were almost rear-ended.  Took the car to dealership they said the only thing they could find was that it needed a new battery.  Changed battery and has not happened since. They said that likely the battery did not have enough power to power the auto stop/start feature so when I stopped the car lost power. I had no indication that the battery was low and never had a car with a low battery lose power in the middle of traffic.
