The car braked very hard, creating a dangerous situation in traffic.  This was not the first time it has happened. The same issue occurred on two separate occasions in 2022, also with no vehicles or obstacles nearby. Each time, the system engaged abruptly and without warning.  I am concerned about the safety risk of the Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS) activating erroneously, as it could easily cause a rear-end collision.
