The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V911000 (Air Bags); however, the dealer informed the contact that the VIN was not included in the recall. The vehicle was not repaired due to the cost. The vehicle was then taken to an independent mechanic, where the same assessment was made, and the mechanic determined that the front passenger's seat assembly and seat belt assembly needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired due to the cost. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance.
