The glass appears ready to collapse inward. Weather conditions were damp with light misting rain and a temperature near 55\u00b0F. The rear defroster was not in use, and there were no warning signs or cracks prior to the failure. Only one other vehicle was nearby, so it is not consistent with road debris. The explosion/shatter occurred suddenly and without impact. Photos clearly show the glass shattered separating from the body seam. This presents a clear safety hazard because the rear window could shatter or detach while driving, risking injury to occupants and other motorists.  I have photos documenting the damage.  The vehicle has not yet been repaired.  Ford dealership will be notified when they open in the morning.  No injuries occurred, but safety risk is significant. This vehicle is a year old and is garage kept and not exposed to harsh environments.
