The screen comes on, but with flashing static lines in the screen instead of the proper display. This makes it very hard to reverse at night, and downright dangerous... the screen can't be turned off, so when you put the engine in reverse, the screen automatically comes on and can't be turned off. But the bright flashing static display it shows make it hard to use mirrors to see to back up.
