I was able to bring the car under control and pull to the side of the road. The car was nearly new 4 mths old w/2300 miles. The tires/rims were in new condition.  Honda roadside service refused to tow the car under their roadside policy. I called Triple A and paid out of pocket to have the car towed to Walmart who installed an off brand tire of the same size that I was able to continue to Virginia. While examining the tire/rim at Walmart service they showed me how the complete inside sidewall of the tire completly separated in 1 piece from the rest of the tire/rim.   THESE CONTINENTAL PROCONTACT TIRES ARE A DANGEROUS SAFETY HAZARD AND HONDA SHOULD RECALL THE VEHICLES AND REPLACE THEM WITH A DIFFERENT BRAND, PREFERABLY MICHELIN.   I've contacted Honda USA customer relations and so far they have refused to take any action or cover my tow & temp tire replacement cost nor accept responsibility to replace the dangerous Continental tires.
