On June 24, 2025, the vehicle underwent a power tailgate unit replacement and water leak repair at Ocean Honda of Brockton. Water had leaked into the tailgate unit and caused it to short out. The total cost for this repair was $1,776.18. I have attached a copy of the paid service repair summary and proof of payment.  My primary concern, beyond the financial burden, is the inherent safety risk posed by this malfunction. As a parent of three children, we specifically chose the Honda Odyssey for its reputation for safety and reliability as a family vehicle. A power tailgate unit that can fail due to water infiltration presents a serious hazard, as it could cause the tailgate to unexpectedly open while the vehicle is in motion. This could lead to items falling out onto the road, creating a dangerous road hazard for other drivers, or potentially compromising the safety of passengers if the vehicle is involved in an accident.  Right before the tailgate stopped working, we noticed a \"low battery\" warning upon starting the van. This is probably due to the electrical short.  I sent a letter to American Honda Motor Company on July 2, 2025, detailing the issue, but have yet to hear a response.","products":[{"type":"Vehicle","productYear":"2022","productMake":"HONDA","productModel":"ODYSSEY","manufacturer":"Honda (American Honda Motor Co.)"}]}]}
