The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who repaired the steering rack. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was reprogrammed. The vehicle was repaired. While driving at an undisclosed speed, the contact drove over another puddle of water, and the failure reoccurred.  The contact was unable to dry the vehicle. The manufacturer was contacted and filed a claim on the contact's behalf.  The manufacturer informed the contact that the vehicle was repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 14V514000 (Steering) in 2015.
