If I push on my brakes more than twice the brake pedal locks up and I have to push extremely hard to get my vehicle stopped..  luckily I have never been going fast and had to worry about this. This is normally when I am pulling into a parking spot or I am backing up that I have to tap on my brakes a few times.  A couple of times I have bumped the pole in front of my parking spot due to not having brakes.
