The car then shut down and died while in motion.  Extremely dangerous as in the first instance, the vehicle was in the White Mountains region of New Hampshire (on a main road, Rt. 16), with no cell reception, cold weather, and at night, leaving us stranded. The second occasion happened on a busy highway with my wife and young daughter in the car. We were able to get off the highway when the warning lights came on; however, the car died in Downtown Boston, at night, in the winter (December).  the first time this happened, the car was towed, a \"software update\" was done, and we were back on the road. then less than 2 months later, the same thing happened, and is this time diagnosed as the eTorque motor. There is an open NHTSA investigation for this exact issue.
