It finally decided to go and started jerking and going thru all of the gears at once. It did this several times on the way home. There was a lot of traffic out also. The next day I was driving from my house in Harrisburg and it started jerking and deacceralting on its own (with traffic behind me). I got to the stop sign and kept smelling smoke. I shut the car off and restarted it and could only drive 10 miles per hour to get to the shop. This has happened 5 different times. I got to the shop and they said it was my transmission. They stated they hooked it up to computer and threw codes out.  8 days later I took to another shop and they stated the same thing (this shop took my car for test drive and understood what I was talking about). I called Ford about it and they stated they could not help me and hung up. It is a safety issue.
