It resulted in me suffering a fractured sternum.  I am absolutely sure I did not press down hard on the accelerator to cause this.  I recall being slightly jerked back into my seat and then hitting the wall.  I have no idea what system failed, but the car is available for inspection.  I am unable to drive the car until repairs to the front end are done,  which I am told will take a few weeks.  Thus, the car has not been inspected by anyone as yet, but I most certainly want it thoroughly checked. It should be noted that the police report was taken in the emergency room while I was in pain and in total shock at what happened.
