He was pretty close to home so he got it started again and drove it home. He replaced spark plugs and coil packs and it still had a misfire.  We took it to an auto repair shop where they did a scan and told us it had a dead hole in cylinder 2 and that it needs a full engine replacement. The car also had an oil change just before Thanksgiving.
