During a U-turn on 1/25/2026, the vehicle struck a curb. While I cannot definitively isolate driver input from system input during the maneuver, the vehicle immediately entered a \"fail-safe\" state, triggering a cascade of specific error codes: Electronic Stability Control (ESC) Fault, Front AEB Unavailable, Highway Assist Inoperative, and Intelligent Speed Adaptation Inoperative.  These errors are directly tied to the ADAS/ADCU systems currently under NHTSA Recall 25V559, which identifies a defect where the system provides \"sudden steering inputs that are difficult for the driver to override\" during turns. The dealership VinFast Lisle is acknowledging these recall-related errors are present but is refusing to cover the resulting physical damage, quoting a repair cost of over $2,100 + taxes. I am reporting this because the manufacturer should not be able to dismiss a collision that occurs while a vehicle is actively suffering from a known, federally-recalled steering defect. I request that the NHTSA investigate whether this hardware damage is a consequence of the software failure.","products":[{"type":"Vehicle","productYear":"2025","productMake":"VINFAST","productModel":"VF 8","manufacturer":"VinFast Auto, LLC"}]}]}
