The amount of light actually approximates running lights. I replaced the headlight bulbs but did not solve or even affect the problem. Online research indicates it is not a bulb problem but the reflective coating around the bulb that has burned off on these parts. The fact there is no safety recall on a problem of generating sufficient light to illuminate the area in front of the car at night is shocking.
