Moisture exposure to airbag and SRS components presents a serious safety risk because these federally regulated systems may fail to deploy, deploy improperly, or deploy unexpectedly in the event of a collision, increasing the risk of injury or death. The issue was reported multiple times to authorized Toyota dealerships while the vehicle was under factory warranty, and repair attempts were made; however, the water intrusion and related safety concerns were not resolved. The manufacturer and its authorized dealers were made aware of the defect through repeated service visits and customer complaints.
