Had to immediately pull to the shoulder of the highway with heavy traffic that got very close to my rear bumper due to the sudden decrease in speed.  There was no advance warning of power loss.  Upon stopping on the shoulder the vehicle was put in park and the key turned to the off position.  After a short wait the ignition key was turned to the on position and was able to resume trip at highway speeds.
