When attempting to turn the vehicle off it will not allow it, just keeping up the shift to park message on the dash. I am then unable to lock the doors. This could kill my battery as the engine eventually turns off but the lights stay on. Furthermore, leaving the vehicle unlocked and on for some time puts it at risk of being stolen. It does not happen every time I turn the vehicle off. I have tried shifting it back and forth between drive and park and sometimes that corrects the issue. I just got this vehicle about a week ago and it has not yet been diagnosed or seen as this problem just began last night. There were no other issues experienced yet. Googling it, seems to be a common issue with many Traverse owners, stating that it is typically the transmission shift control module.
