Upon subsequent inspection, the 873D6-5AA6A control unit and its associated wiring harness were found to be severely compromised by thermal damage. Detailed Observations:  Thermal Damage: The control unit housing showed significant melting. Residual smoke was present during the inspection, indicating a high-temperature event caused by a short circuit or component failure.  Harness Integrity: The wiring harness insulation was melted and charred. Due to the extreme heat, the plastic connector had become brittle and lost all structural integrity.  Component Failure: During the attempt to disconnect the unit for safety inspection, the connector shattered, leaving the internal wiring of the harness exposed.
