The event was abrupt and very startling while in motion. After safely stopping and inspecting the vehicle, we observed that the driver-side rear door window had shattered. The damage included a pronounced irregular opening located approximately in the middle of the window toward the rear edge, with complete fragmentation of the surrounding tempered glass. We inspected the interior of the vehicle and surrounding area for evidence of a rock, debris, or other projectile but did not locate any object that could have caused the damage. This unexpected window failure created driver distraction, potential risk of injury from glass fragments, and sudden loss of window integrity while driving at highway speed.
