No fluid is disbursed on the way up to that left position, so all fluid from driver side wiper blades goes off the side of windshield or just pools there.  Very little fluid from the passenger side blade goes onto windshield in front of driver.  There is no way to get fluid on passenger side of windshield, since fluid comes from top of blade, which is pointing left in straight up position when fluid is disbursed.  This is a terrible design.  I run out of fluid frequently and cannot see to drive is messy, Ohio winters.
