Prior to the incident, the vehicle had multiple wheel alignment services performed by an authorized Volkswagen dealership on May 24, 2025 and August 11, 2025. After the wheel detached on February 1st, 2026, the vehicle was towed and repaired by an independent repair shop. The vehicle and repaired wheel assembly may still be available for inspection if requested.  The wheel detached while the vehicle was traveling on a public street, which caused an immediate loss of control and created a serious risk of collision and injury to myself and other road users. The vehicle could not be driven and required a tow.
