The bolts holding the exhaust together failed and broke which led to this. This is a common failure with the newer trailblazer that GM is failing to acknowledge. There have been multiple reports of this. I had my vehicle inspected by Webb Chevy in oak Lawn IL and all the mechanic could say is “they don’t make them like they used to” which means they know this problem exists. This 100% put me at risk as I could’ve crashed with my daughter in the car when the muffler disconnected causing it to scrape and lose power. This was extremely dangerous and should’ve been a recall. There was no warning lights or anything. My vehicle just ran into issues mid traffic and this was extremely scary. There’s multiple online forums of people with this same issue: [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
