The vehicle developed a steering problem where the steering wheel becomes unusually stiff and difficult to control.  Honda issued NHTSA Recall 24V-744 for defective steering gearbox components affecting 2023-2025 Honda HR-V vehicles.  My vehicle was manufactured during the same production period referenced in the recall. However, my VIN is not included in the recall even though the symptoms match the defect described by Honda.  A Honda dealership inspected the vehicle and indicated the steering system requires repair estimated at approximately $4,000.  Because the defect matches the steering gearbox issue described in Recall 24V-744, I believe my vehicle may have the same safety defect but was excluded from the recall.
