While attempting to park, the transmission remained in neutral and failed to shift to park. The vehicle was parked, and the wheels were chocked to keep the vehicle from rolling away. The vehicle was towed to a certified mechanic, where the contact was informed that the shifter cable had detached from the transmission. The contact was informed that the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V674000 (Power Train). The dealer was contacted, and it was confirmed that the part was not yet available for the recall repair. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that if the recall had not caused the failure, there would be no assistance with any additional repairs.
