This is a very much a safety hazard as the PDM controls lights as well as the electric fan clutch, which can cause the engine to overheat leaving you stranded on the road also it can cause lights to fail and the operator does not know they have failed. The issue tends to be intermittent in nature and very difficult to diagnose. I have contacted freightliner directly about this issue and they were of no help. This issue is all over the Internet and I\u2019ve also know of several people that have filed complaints here with the national Highway transportation, safety administration.
