The defect was confirmed by an authorized Ford Dealership. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request.  Safety risk: This defect causes sudden loss of engine power without reliable warning, engine stalling in active traffic, and risk of engine fire due to coolant-oil contamination - all documented safety hazards Ford has acknowledged in its own technical bulletins.  The vehicle was inspected by a Ford-certified technician at an authorized dealership. The problem was confirmed and dealership issued a written diagnosis for requiring engine replacement. 100% of our services to this vehicle have been done by Ford dealerships, up to and including the appointment to diagnose the engine.  Warning symptom appeared prior to failure: check engine light,  an audible sloshing sound from the engine compartment. Symptoms first appeared in early December 2025, (approximately 2 weeks before the end of our warranty.) A service appointment was scheduled for the check engine light, but was cancelled because the light cleared itself. We learned in April 2026 that it was engine failure.  Ford's own TSBs 19-2346 and 22-2229 document that symptoms of this defect occur with or without an illuminated MIL. Ford has not issued a recall despite NHTSA's own database showing 727 complaints on this vehicle, 128 pages of which relate to engine and engine cooling issues. They stated when asked about a warranty claim or goodwill there is no open customer service issues related to this, and since the diagnosis is post warranty they will not cover any of the approximate 10,000 it will cost to replace the engine.","products":[{"type":"Vehicle","productYear":"2018","productMake":"FORD","productModel":"EDGE","manufacturer":"Ford Motor Company"}]}]}
