Daytime running lights (DRLs) and high beams continue to function normally on the affected side. There are no dashboard warning lights other than the expected “check low beam” message. The vehicle was taken to Valley Imports Porsche in Fargo, ND, on 4/10/2026, where they diagnosed an internal failure of the integrated LED module in the sealed headlight assembly. They quoted approximately 5,000 for a full headlight replacement (no individual bulb or module repair is possible). This is a known recurring issue on 2019–2021 Porsche Macan models. Driving at night without functional low beams creates a significant safety hazard, as high beams alone are not a legal or safe substitute for normal low-beam illumination. Low beams are required under federal motor vehicle safety standards for safe roadway visibility. The failure occurred despite good overall service history. I request that NHTSA review this as a potential safety defect in the headlight system for these model years.
