The contact stated that while idling at a stoplight, the vehicle suddenly stalled while attempting to accelerate. The contact was able to turn off and restart the vehicle to continue driving; however, the vehicle stalled twice. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the canister purge valve had failed due to a high-pressure purge flow in the EVAP system. The vehicle was scheduled for repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue.
