The wind in Kansas was horrible on that day.  While in the middle of the state, one of the panels around the sunroof on my 2015 Ford Edge CAME OFF of my car and shattered in the road behind me.  Moments later, 3 other panels blew off and shattered on the road.  I was in shock!  Someone could have been killed or severely injured!  I am still in shock!  The next day, Monday the 23rd, I took the car over to James River Ford near my house and had them look at it.  They stated that they had never seen this before.  All but one of the panels around the sunroof had come off!  They looked up recalls for me, but none were on the sunroof panels.  Again, I was in shock.  How could a car have been designed such that there was the possibility that the ROOF of the car could come off randomly while driving down the highway?  I looked online and there was a lot of talk on how these panels are NOTORIOUS for coming off!  There are multiple stories of issues with these panels.  I purchased this car used and would have preferred to NOT have a sunroof, but I really liked the rest of the car.  In fact, the sunroof did not work properly when I first purchased the car, so I chose not to even use it.  Now, to have the panels rip off and shatter on the road is extremely alarming and frustrating!  Most importantly, I need to know that Ford understands the dangers of these poorly designed panels around their panoramic sunroof!  No \u201cspecial\u201d sunroof design is worth the dangers that these can cause if they come off.  I do not see other vehicles around with these types of panels.  I reached out to Ford online on March 23rd and April 2nd.  Of course, nothing really came of that, which is why I am reached out and sent them a certified letter.  I am extremely disappointed with my vehicle at this point.
