Since I was still in my driveway, I was able to safely park and exit the vehicle. There were no injuries and no other vehicles or property were involved.  The vehicle was undriveable and required towing to the dealership. The dealer diagnosed the failure as a defective Integrated Charging Control Unit (ICCU) and replaced the unit.
