The issue occurred abruptly and without any indication, creating a serious and unexpected safety hazard. Due to the severity of the problem, the vehicle had to be towed and is unsafe to drive. This appears to be a failure of the electronic power steering (EPS) system. A sudden loss of steering assist at driving speed presents a significant risk of injury or death to the driver, passengers, and others on the road.
