This can change music, navigation, phone, or menu settings while driving, creating a distraction and safety hazard. The issue occurs unpredictably and cannot be disabled by the driver, nor can the infotainment display be powered off as a solution.  Mazda settled a lawsuit (Duffy, et al. v. Mazda Motor of America, Inc.) and issued Service Alert SA\u2011041/22 for this exact defect on the Mazda2, which uses the same Mazda\u2011built infotainment hardware as the Toyota Yaris iA. Toyota hasn't issued a recall or service campaign for the Yaris iA, even though the vehicles share the same components and the same adhesive failure that poses a safety risk.
