The dealership accepted the vehicle in its current state, performed the safety recall, and certified the vehicle as safe. However, the engine suffered a catastrophic failure 250 miles later due to the exact system addressed in the recall. I was previously told that nothing could be done, which is unacceptable as federal law requires a safety defect to be remedied at no cost.
