This failure occurs when there is a slight turn in the wheel (approximately 25-45 degrees). The steering wheel gets stuck and the driver has to use force to \"break\" it loose. This action causes the vehicle to overcorrect into either the lane next to vehicle or into oncoming traffic. I have done research and Mazda has acknowledged that this is a known issue and even issued a recall for our 2024 Mazda CX-90. However, Mazda has also more recently come forward and said that their corrective action does not always correct the recalled issue. We recently had a near miss into oncoming traffic while trying to \"unstick\" our steering wheel.
