At that moment, the engine ran very rough while attempting to push the accelerator pedal to maneuver out of traffic, feeling like there was no power. With that, I also noticed the temperature gauge start to increase towards the hot limit, though there was no venting of steam from the radiator. I stopped my car on the side, turned the car off, and waited u til it cooled down before attempting to start it again. When restart after a period of time, I noticed what smelled like coolant coming from the exhaust.
