Upon closing the door, the rear window spontaneously shattered completely. The conditions at the time were as follows:  • Outdoor temperature: approximately 85°F — well within normal operating range • No prior chips, cracks, or visible damage to the glass before the incident • No external impact, projectile, vandalism, or theft attempt of any kind • No vehicles or people were in the immediate area at the time of failure • The only action taken was a normal, gentle closing of the car door  This was not a minor crack. The window shattered completely and without warning. Flying glass debris posed a serious safety hazard to myself and anyone nearby. We were fortunate no injuries occurred.
