The head unit intermittently fails while I am driving, producing a sudden, extremely loud static noise that continues without stopping until the car is turned off.  This issue creates a hazardous driving condition because the unexpected loud static is distracting and disorienting, and it prevents me from using the car safely until I can safely stop and turn off the vehicle. This failure has occurred repeatedly, and I am concerned that it could cause an accident or prevent me from reacting appropriately to road conditions.
