While I was inside the cargo area, the tailgate began closing on its own/unexpectedly. On a separate occasion, it closed on my [XXX] son while he was in the cargo area-I had to push him out of the way to prevent him from being crushed. Shortly after these incidents, the tailgate/latch actuator stopped functioning entirely.   I took the vehicle to the dealer who quoted approximately $1300 to replace the latch assembly. Given that this malfunction has put my child at risk of serious injury, I'd like to ask:  1. Is there an open Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) for tailgate latch/actuator issues on the 2020 Velar?  2. Would Land Rover consider a goodwill or policy adjustment to cover or offset this repair given the severity of the safety failure?  3. Can this incident be logged as a formal safety concern for review given the risk to a minor?  The vehicle was purchased from Land Rover-Las Vegas on Roy Horn.  I have also filed the complaint with Land Rover Customer Service.   Thank you so much.
