Upon research found that this has been an ongoing issue for several years affecting many GM vehicles. Vehicle can stall at any time in traffic causing serious injury or death. Apparently GM does not have a fix for this problem & the company's solution is to replace the faulty module with modules that have the same defects. Also, when affected vehicles stall in traffic, the parking brakes set & there is no way to even put the vehicles  in neutral so that they can safely be moved out of the roadway. This increases the chances of causing a serious accident if one was not caused by the initial breakdown.
