Took the vehicle to a service station and scanned the vehicle.  Listed error code is p0d27-00.  The code could not be cleared and the vehicle was unable to be charged. Vehicle had to be taken to a Chrysler dealer for the code to be cleared in order to charging capability to be restored.  This was considered a \"software\" issue and not covered under the vehicles warranty - despite it directly affecting the fuel/hybrid propulsion system.  This defect and inability to clear the code means the vehicle cannot be charged, reducing its range and fuel economy, and increasing emissions.
